It's snowing in Truckee

It is only the beginning of October and this is the 3rd time it has snowed in Truckee this season. Hopefully this means that we will have a good winter with lots of snow! It looks like it is winter outside with snow on the trees and snow flying! Get your skis ready early this season.

The long range forcast says we will be skiing by early Nov. true dat!
Hwy 80 is closed due to the snow and spin outs!

Dan's Latest Forecast
"This current weather pattern has been with us since mid summer. A persistent low pressure trough off the West Coast has kept the summer relatively cool and diverted summer mountain thunderstorms to the east and south. Now that fall is here, the same weather pattern is bringing in small bursts of precipitation and cool conditions. This weather pattern did not exist last fall. Most long range models have this pattern continuing through around Christmas. If the pattern holds, expect above normal precipitation and below normal temperatures. In other words, we are looking at a better than average chance of decent early snow.
