Or will that be Jumpstart @ Northstar? ;)

Anybody else going? What skis to bring? My choices are:

Rossi Bandit XX (aka "The Rock Skis")
Volkl Racetiger SL
Atomic GS:11
Dynastar TroubleMaker

I'm kind of thinking the Bandits, due to thin (read: practically non-existant) snow cover... I'm also doing every kind of snow dance I can think of (an ugly sight), I've burned a couple of things on the grill, let's hope it works!!!

Well, it's been dumping at Squallywood and I'm outta here in a couple of hours. Hopefully the drive from Reno up I-80 will be uneventful, but we've rented AWD just in case.

Update tomorrow night, if I can get to a computer! Maybe Kimberly will let me borrow the one at the office??? ;)

And oh yeah, I'm taking the B3s...

Aside from a couple of boarder vs. skier incidents (and you can probably guess who was responsible for those ), it was a great five days at (drum roll, please...) Northstar! Yep, marginal conditions at Squaw, Alpine, and everywhere else. Northstar had been making snow agressively and it definitely showed in the conditions. Aside from some minor obstacles here and there (I get to make friends with Mr. P-tex Candle this weekend) there was some pretty nice snow, especially for the drills. Malcolm and Robin had us working pretty hard, and it was really great to see some big improvements in my wife's skiing. She had no idea what I'd signed her up to do before the camp, but on the way back to the airport she said she'd be interested in doing it again next year. Skiing with Dr. Jim is always a pleasure, meeting John and (g)Nat was great too. Re-connecting with Michael from the AC/AT two years ago was an unexpected bonus, as was skiing with Hannes again (from last year's Jumpstart). It was especially cool seeing Hannes stick a 180 off a jump in the park! You're never too old to rock and roll!

Crossover was the move-de-jour, and I managed to pretty much eliminate my patented "Jack In The Box" up move - a relic of the old days. Can't wait to try this stuff out at Bretton Woods in a couple of weeks, then on to Mammoth in early January.

And oh yeah, who says you can't make high-performance turns on twin tips? My Dynastar Trouble Makers did their best to live up to the name, I had those suckers turning so fast my hands just couldn't keep up!
