After deciding that my B3s weren't quite fat enough for my widest boards, I picked up a pair of Volkl Mantras (133-96-116). Would the Look (Dynastar) PX-12 Jib Wide (100mm brake) be a good binding for these? I have the regular width PX-12 on the twins and they seem to do a good job on those. Any pros/cons about lifters on powder skis? I can't think of why that would be a good idea, but given my limited brainpower I thought I'd better ask first...

Some companies are using lifters to give all mountain carvers some versatility, however true powder skis need to be free flexing, so too much beef under the foot doesn't allow the ski to bend enough. There is always exceptions to the rule.

The bindings I selected for the Mantras are the Dynastar (aka Look) PX-12 Jib bindings, which come with 3mm thick "shock absorber" pads that go between the binding and the ski. I'd guess that these don't alter the flex that much (and maybe not provide that much shock absorbtion, either), so I'll probably just go with them. What do you think?
Either way, these sure aren't lifted like my Volkl RaceTiger SL WC or Atomic LT:11m bindings are - they're pretty far up there! Makes for some fun carving... :)
