I'm looking for something for my wife that will be a good step up for powder and off-trail skiing over her 05/06 K2 One Luv skis. I go to skinet.com to check out their ski finder, and enter Female, Level II, Powder ski, powder performance/crud performance/forgiveness, current model year and click "Find My Skis". Nothing. :(
I try various other entries, but it's not until I bump the level to III ("Expert" - I really *hate* that term...) that I find something. So is this telling me there are no appropriate powder-ish skis for intermediate skiers?
I tried the same criteria but substituted "All Mountain" for "Powder" as the ski type, Level II, same result. Zip. Zilch. Nada. So how does one go about finding a good ski to help an intermediate skier progress off-piste, other than just blindly demoing skis until you find one that works? I suspect the K2 Lotta Luv, the Rossi Scratch Girl BC, and the Dynastar Exclusive Legend might do the trick (based on review comments), so maybe we'll start there.
