Just a Few More Weeks of Summer Left!

It’s hard to believe that summer is on its way out. In just a few shorts weeks kids will be heading back to school.
Come and get one last climbing day on the rocks before school starts back up. Climbing is great for problem solving skills and building strength and coordination. Make it a fun morning or afternoon for the whole family. Please call or email NASTC to book climbing dates.

Ski Training Camp – Portillo, Chile

Get a head start on your 2015 season, by skiing this summer with NASTC’s top coaching crew in Portillo, Chile.
Our 20th anniversary in Portillo, we are excited to be bringing another group of fun and passionate skiers to this amazing skiing wonderland.
Portillo is the summer training destination for the U.S, Austrian and Norwegian Ski Teams. Portillo’s terrain and ease of logistics make it an ideal skiing destination and the perfect venue to improve your skiing. Skiing laps on the famed Rocajack will definitely make a difference. You will emerge from the NASTC – Portillo camp feeling inspired and excited for the start of the season.

Avalanche Level 1 & 2 Safety Courses

AIARE Level 1 and Level 2 classes will be offered again this season. These classes are an absolute must for anyone skiing in the backcountry. The Level 2 class is geared for those individual who find themselves in leadership positions within groups skiing in the backcountry, for those planning more extensive trips and anyone with a general interest on learning more about avalanches, their behaviour, triggers and preventative practices. The Level 1 is the basic knowledge you need to travel within the backcountry. Both class levels are AIARE certified and follow the AIARE curriculum.
Dates:
Level 1: January 16-19 & February 20-22
Level 2: February 6-9

Truckee – Tahoe Bouldering Competition, August 9th

The Sports Exchange in Truckee is hosting the first annual bouldering competition and party. The bouldering competitions is open to all levels of climbers.
