NASTC has been chasing the snow for over 20 years in South America taking groups every August to Portillo, Chile. Located on the Chilean-Argentinean border, just two hours from the capital city of Santiago, Portillo’s iconic beauty and exhilarating skiing will make you want to keep going back for more. Join us this summer! Fly with us Friday August 14, ski 7 days Sat-Sat, and fly home August 22, landing Aug 23rd. Its an unforgettable adventure chasing the snow, and its all in one week, east coast time zone – which means easy travel for a HUGE adventure! $5295 basic lodging, $8395 double in hotel (singles available)
If you are a seasoned Portillo summer skier interested in experiencing more of what the huge Andes have to offer, Corralco is where you will want to go with NASTC. This resort is located on the Loquimay volcano in the magnificent Malalcahuello National Reserve a short flight south of Santiago. The scenery, landscape and terrain are very different compared with the jagged outline and rugged environment of the Andes. This trip will include resort skiing as well as some hiking to “earn our turns.” Fall in love with more of Chile when you visit Corralco with NASTC: August 22-29. $7000 double occupancy.
We take a group every year up Mt Shasta, and this is a GREAT year to do it. Chris was just up there checking out conditions, and its great. With this recent snow, even better! Join usMay 1-3. No ski mountaineering experience is necessary, we spend a comfortable 3 days on the big mountain, learning ice axe and crampon skills, plus skinning, kick turns, avalanche beacon use, and more.
For 15 years we’ve been teaching climbing in the summer, as one of Tahoe’s premier rock schools. Our certified guides will lead you through a positively amazing experience, whether your first time climbing or not! Donner Summit offers climbs for all levels. We do private lesson and groups from April-November. Join us for 2 hrs, 4 hrs, or 7 hrs! Bring a friend and save serious $$!
One of our favorite off-season sports, rock climbing is a great cross-training activity for skiing and other sports, it also has big rewards for life in general. Rock climbing teaches you how to be present in the moment, how to focus your mind and empower you with confidence.
Full day or half-day lessons/guiding are available with all gear and equipment included. All ages and levels are welcome! Please call 530-386-2102 or email jenny@skinastc.com for reservations and rates.
Despite the lack of snow in Lake Tahoe, the snow gods smiled on the NASTC groups in Niseko, Japan, Aspen, Colorado and St. Anton, Austria. The Japan group experienced bottomless powder over and over again with one-of-a-kind adventures in the Japanese backcountry. The St. Anton group lucked out with one of the best winters the Europe has had in several years. When the snow levels are high, there is nothing like skiing in the Arlberg region, it’s pretty close to perfect. The Aspen group could not have had better timing, than landing in this beautiful Colorado town during the largest snowstorm of the season. They got to enjoy the famed steep terrain of Aspen covered in powder and celebrated their good fortune in style with lunch at the legendary Cloud Nine restaurant at Aspen Highlands. We hope you join us next winter and get to enjoy similar wonderful adventure filled ski vacations.
