Congratulations to the following NASTC trainers for making the 2011 Western Regional Team: Mike Costello, Elianne Furtney, Heidi Ettlinger, Kim Mann and  Mark Palamaras.  These individuals will train together as a team in preparation for the 2012 PSIA National Alpine Team Tryouts.  They represent the best of the Western Division.

What a Month!!  March kicked off with a super fun course at Crested Butte, where many NASTC veterans reunited for a week of great skiing and coaching with Chris Fellows and Nick Herrin.  The middle of the month brought the start of what ended up being a 10-day storm cycle – the biggest we have seen in a VERY long time!  The storm total brought about an average of 12ft, the overnight record was pretty close to 4ft.  The snowfall…

Buon Giorno da Val Gardena. Val Gardena Update Just got word from the NASTC crew in Italy and sounds like they are having a really good time.  They have already put in two ambitious routes and have logged in some serious mileage in the last couple of days.  They are expecting fresh snow tomorrow so the fun meter is going to rise some more! Val Gardena

In the next 48 hours planes will be departing from across the U.S with members of the NASTC group on their way to Val Gardena.  They will travel across a continent and ocean, travel by train through mountain passes until they reach the small village of Selva Gardena where the true adventure starts.  The NASTC crew will spend a week honing their skiing skills amongst the splendour of the Dolomites.  No doubt they will be feasting on the sumptuous Italian cuisine too. …
